Contests Starting Tomorrow

Contests Starting Tomorrow-

Tomorrow will start my 13 Days of Halloween contests and giveaways leading up to my giveaway of a My Memories software pack. 

That is what I use to combine two of my favorite crafts- scrapbooking and crocheting.

12 inch Trick or Treat Ghost includes pattern


Trick or Treat Ghost

J hook
4 to 6 oz of white yarn
small amounts of black, orange and green
Yarn needle
Fiberfill

sc= single crochet
dc= double crochet
hdc= half double crochet
ss= slip stitch

Eyes(make 2)Black yarn
Chain 3
10 hdc in 3rd chain from hook, ss to beginning.
Fasten off and leave long tail for sewing onto ghost.

Mouth(make 1)Black yarn
Chain 6
1 hdc in 2nd chain from hook
1 hdc in each chain until last chain.
3 hdc in last chain.
Work back side of chain.
1 hdc in each back loop until last loop.
2 hdc in last loop ss to beginning.
Fasten off and leave long tail for sewing onto ghost.

Arms(make 1)white yarn
Chain 3
10 hdc in 3rd chain from hook.
Rounds 2-28
Chain 1
1 hdc in each stitch around ss to beginning.
Last round do not chain 1.
Fasten off and leave tail to sew on ghost.


Pumpkin Trick or Treat Basket
Orange yarn
Chain 3
10 dc in 3rd chain from hook ss to beginning.
Chain 2
2 dc in each stitch around ss to beginning.
Chain 1
1 hdc in each stitch around back loops only ss to beginning.
Chain 2
1 dc in each stitch around both loops ss to beginning.
Chain 1
1 hdc in each stitch around ss to beginning.
fasten off orange and attach green

1 sc in each stitch around ss to beginning.

skip 9 stitches ss in 10th stitch.

Just continue with round 37 until hole is closed.

Sew on eyes and mouth.
Sew one end of arms to one side of ghost, slide pumpkin basket onto arms, sew on other end
of arms to opposite side of ghost.

New slippers from pattern

Hey everybody I came up with some new slippers with the basic pattern I have been playing around with this past week.

Version 4
Hook size of choice
color choice of yarn (app. 3 oz.)
yarn needle for weaving in ends

Make 2

Chain 3
round 1- 10 half double crochet in 3rd chain from hook. Slip stitch to beginning.(10 stitches)

round 2- Chain 2, 2 hdc in each stitch, slip stitch to beginning. (20 stitches)

round 3- chain 2, 2 hdc in first stitch, 1 hdc in next stitch,**2 hdc in next stitch, 1 hdc in next stitch**
repeat **-** around to beginning. Slip stitch to beginning.  (30 stitches)

rounds 4 thru 10- Chain 2, 1 double crochet in each stitch around. (30 stitches)

11 thru 15 - Turn, chain 2, 1 double crochet in the first 25 stitches.(25 stitches a row)

End of row 15 fasten off yarn and leave long tail to sew back seam of slipper.

Fold slipper back together and sew up back seam.  Weave in beginning tail and ending tail of yarns. Turn slipper inside out.

Attach yarn to the top of the back seam.
Round 1
Chain 1
Single crochet around opening of slipper (between 26-30 stitches) slip stitch to beginning.
Rounds 2 - 4
Chain 2
Double crochet in each stitch around, slip stitch to beginning.
Fasten off and weave in ends of yarn.
Turn slipper wrong side out.

You can add a decorative chain tie to the top row.  Just chain 100 and thread through the top row of double crochet.






Cuffs can be turned down or just left up.

round 7- chain 2, 1 double crochet in the first 20 stitches, chain 10, slip stitch to beginning. (20 stitches, 10 chain)

round 8- Turn, chain 2, 1 double crochet in each stitch around including the chain stitches(30 stitches)

rows 9 thru 15 - Turn, chain 2, 1 double crochet in the first 20 stitches.(20 stitches a row)

End of row 15 fasten off yarn and leave long tail to sew back seam of slipper.

Fold slipper back together and sew up back seam.  Weave in beginning tail and ending tail of yarns. Turn slipper inside out.
