Froggie Magnet and Towel Topper
Froggie Magnet-
Green and Red Yarn
1 pair of Squiggle eyes / Glue
Yarn needle
Magnet strip
Front of Froggie:
Green Yarn-
Chain 4
12 DC into 4 chain from hook. Join with slip stitch. (12 DC)
Chain 3
2 DC each stitch around. Join with Slip Stitch (24 DC)
Skip 2 stitches.
8 Half Double Crochet in next stitch
Skip 2 stitches
Slip Stitch in next 2 stitches
Skip 2 stitches
8 HDC in next stitch
Skip 2 stitches
Slip stitch in next stitch
Fasten off yarn and weave in ends.
With Red yarn- sew on a mouth.
Back of Froggie:
With Green yarn-
Chain 4
12 DC into 4 chain from hook. Join with slip stitch. (12 DC)
Chain 3
2 DC each stitch around. Join with Slip Stitch (24 DC)
Fasten off and leave long tail to sew front and back together.
Place front and back together and sew around from bottom of eye to bottom of opposite eye. Leave top open.
Glue on eyes and magnet strip.
****You could leave off the magnet and use as a treat bag/container for a frog party, gift, etc. I made this for a Spring Party with the theme Down by the Pond.****
Froggie Towel Topper-
Green, Red, Black and White yarn
F and I hook
1 Pair of Frog eyes
1 Button
1 small plastic kid's bracelet (used to be called Jelly Bracelets) or a wire ring 3"
Yarn needle
Green Towel or towel of choice
Front of Frog:
Green Yarn and I hook-
Chain 4
12 DC into 4 chain from hook. Join with slip stitch. (12 DC)
Chain 3
2 DC each stitch around. Join with Slip Stitch (24 DC)
Chain 3
2 DC in first stitch * 1 DC in next stitch 2 DC in next stitch Continue around * Join with slip stitch. (36DC)
Chain 3
2 DC in first stitch * 1 DC in next 2 stitches 2 DC in the next stitch. Continue around * Join with slip stitch(48DC)
Skip 4 stitches
10 Treble/Triple Crochet In next stitch
Skip 4 stitches
Slip stitch in next 4 stitches
Skip 4 Stitches
10 Treble/Triple Crochet in next stitch
Skip 4 stitches Slip stitch in next stitch.
Fasten off yarn and weave in ends.
Attach red yarn to the top of the first row and single crochet half way around row.
Chain 14
4 HDC in 2 chain from hook. Attach with slip stitch to the top row.
Back of Frog:
Green Yarn-
Chain 4
12 DC into 4 chain from hook. Join with slip stitch. (12 DC)
Chain 3
2 DC each stitch around. Join with Slip Stitch (24 DC)
Chain 3
2 DC in first stitch * 1 DC in next stitch 2 DC in next stitch Continue around * Join with slip stitch. (36DC)
Chain 3
2 DC in first stitch * 1 DC in next 2 stitches 2 DC in the next stitch. Continue around * Join with slip stitch(48DC)
Fasten off yarn and leave long tail to sew back to front.
Towel Ring:
With green yarn-
Attach yarn to ring/bracelet.
Single crochet around the ring/bracelet.
Chain 1
Slip stitch around each stitch around.
Fasten off and leave long tail to attach to the frog.
Sew Ring/Bracelet to the 3 round of the back of the frog.
Place Front and Back of Frog together with the towel ring inside.
Sew from 4 stitches below the eye around to 4 stitches below the opposite eye leaving bottom open.
Hanger:
Attach green yarn to the top of frog at the first stitch between eyes.
Single crochet in the 4 stitches between eyes.
*Turn Chain 2 HDC in each stitch
Repeat * 6 rows
Turn Chain 2
HDC in first stitch Chain 2 HDC in last stitch
Turn Chain 1
Single crochet in each stitch and each chain.
Fly:
With F hook and black yarn-
Chain 2
6 single crochet in second chain from hook. Join with slip stitch.
Chain 2
2 HDC in same stitch
Chain 2
Slip stitch in same stitch.
Fasten off black yarn and leave long tail for sewing onto frog.
Attach white yarn between head and body of fly.
Chain 3 Slip stitch in same stitch
Slip stitch other side of head and chain 3 slip stitch in same stitch.
Fasten off yarn and weave in ends.
Take button and fly and attach to the middle of the first row of hanger.
Fold hanger and button through the chain 2.
